Remember the “Magitek Exosuit” that was promised for the February update of Final Fantasy XV?
I wouldn’t be surprised if you forgot about them. They were first introduced during the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary event, and were supposed to come in February, but they got delayed indefinitely because the copyright holders of the unsurprisingly disappointing Power Rangers movie decided that the suits were too similar to the Power Rangers design for comfort, and filed a complaint forcing the team at Square Enix to issue a full redesign.
Of course, the original design (that you can see above, we don’t have a picture of the new design just yet, so that’s the old one) was just an homage to the typically Japanese Super Sentai series, but I guess not everyone can tell the difference.
That aside, the suits are finally coming, and they will be included in the free update scheduled for this month, as Square Enix announced on Twitter.
If the original design was preserved, the exosuits will make the party completely invincible for 30 minutes, but then will need 24 hours to recharge.
At the moment, we don’t have further information, including the precise date of the update, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear more.
Final Fantasy XV‘s development team is continuing to push the game with new DLC, including the recently released Episode Prompto, and Episode Ignis, that will come in December. Major announcements are also expected to come at Gamescom in August.
Final Fantasy XV is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One.
