Today Bandai Namco released a new and quite extensive batch of screenshots and images of the upcoming anime-inspired game Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time.
In the game’s story Akko finds a room under the library named “Horologium.” Inside, there is an old clock (“Horologium” means “clock” in latin) and a large door. When she touches the clock to see if it works, the Horologium is unlocked. This traps her into a continuous loop in which the day before summer vacation keeps repeating. The only way to get out of the loop is to investigate the Seven Wonders of the Luna Nova Magical Academy.
The screenshots begin by showing the gameplay flow of the title. Every repeating day, Akko will collect information, and investigate the Seven Wonders, while exploring the school and some times using magic to find hints. When investigating the Seven Wonders, a dungeon may appear, and beating it causes the story to move forward.
We also get to see some awesome animation frames of Lotte and Sucy, part of the game’s “VHS,” which stands for “Visual Harmony System.” The system is designed to reproduce the effect of anime. Even during battle, animation sequences will help the personality of each character shine through.
Perhaps the most exciting announcement, is that Studio Trigger, which is behind the original anime series, will actually be in charge of producing the anime cutscenes of the game. Looks like this is going to be a treat for the fans.
You can check out all the images below, and if you want to see more, you can also enjoy another large batch of screenshots, the first trailer with English subtitles.
Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time will release in Japan on November 30th exclusively for PS4, and will come to the west in early 2018, adding a PC version on top of Sony’s console.
